| Why |
Fresh air and the facination of the powers that make a wooden stick fly so
beautifully. In Denmark boomerang throwing is not a wide spred sport, but we
aim to change that little by little.
|
| Who |
The Danish Boomerang Club is a small group of enthusiasts with more than 30 years
of combined boomerang expertise. We participate in tournaments national as well
at international. Most of us make our own boomerangs. Find us at:
www.boomerangklub.dk
We've got a mailing list at:

|
| Where |
Our preferred haunting grounds are the fields behind Amagerhallen at Løjtegårdsvej,
Tiøren at Amager Strand, and Fælledparken, but we can appear anywhere in Copenhagen
where there's space. That's usually soccer fields and like grassy areas of a suitable
size - minimum 80 by 80 meters.
|
| When |
At all times of the year when it does'n rain or storm - preferably less than 5 m/s.
We are often found on the fields behind Amagerhallen a couple of hours before sundown,
sometimes at Tiøren from 4 o'clock, but if you want to be sure to catch us you are
better off contacting us beforehand.
|
| What |
Anyone showing interest in boomerangs are taught how to throw and we make up
small fun games where everybody can participate.
You can borrow boomerangs or bring your own. We can provide building instructions
for you to build your own boomerangs. We can even supply materials.
|
| How |
Hold the boomerang so that the flat side (the underside of the boomerang)
is kept away from the thrower. The boomerang can be gripped either by the
whole hand, pistol grip, or by thumb and index finger depending on the size
of the boomerang.
Keep the boomerang close to vertical but leaning about 10-30 degrees away from
you head. It's important that this angle is maintained when you let go of the
boomerang.
Aim slightly (about 5 degrees) above the horizon.
Wind shoul be in you left ear if you're righthanden and right ear if you're lefthanded.
Throw over the head as in a tennis serve or cricket throw.
Use the whole body while throwing starting with a step forward with the left leg,
bend slightly in the knees and let the hip move forward making the throwing arm
automatically swing forward like the end of a whip across the body.
Let the arm follow through all the way as not to damage you shoulder.
More detailed instructions can be found on our web page.

| How much |
